Rampant commercialisation has led to a situation where it is difficult to distinguish between an industrial area and a residential colony in many parts of the capital. Predicting the mess the city will face in future, Supreme Court had in MC Mehta case (2003) ordered a crackdown against all such industrial units, factories and workshops in residential areas in 2003. But 16 years after that judgement, the mess refuses to go away.
